I have to say, I haven't enjoyed doing art like this for soooooo sooo long!!!
I enjoyed working on this so much that I couldn't stop myself from putting on more details!
proud to say I didn't have the need to look at a single reference for the muscles, and they should be pretty accurate too~ :D
(unwillingly, I had to put on underwear and cover some lines :/ oh well!)

Recently I'm writing a lot, and this 11 year old character is still growing. I've been having new ideas about him lately and so I decided to draw him. This is the best drawing of him I ever did -I think. At least I like the way he looks this time :)

Still obsessed with Assassin's Creed II! Even though I already started playing the first game (yup, I'm back tracking :P )

I've been listening to Iron by Woodkid, which is the song they used in the new AC Revelations trailer. I always liked that song, but having that on the trailer gave it a whole new meaning for me XD So I did this piece while listening to Iron on repeat.

Toootally used foto ref for the pose, then dressed him up in Ezio clothes (which are a bitch btw, there is so many layers!!! O_O )

Studio Update

So I had my studio with all empty walls, and lots of posters in frames sitting on the side. So finally, I took some time yesterday to hang those up! I've lots more to go, but ran out of dry-wall hangers.
These images are a combination of things I collected over the many years. I'm so happy to finally have a space to hang them up now. Comic Con is coming up soon, so maybe I'll have new additions to the collection :)

Photoshop pencil gives the best gritty textures, but unfortunately resizing messes up the grains, smooths out the picture quite a bit. :/

While drawing this, I realized just HOW much I am influenced by the Japanese Ukiyo-e style! Yes, Daisuke is supposed to be a Japanese character, but I've been drawing in this style for some time now, so mystery solved (for me :p )

My very good friend Ismail Kemal Ciftcioglu has finally released the trailer of his second short film, "Eski Dunyanin Ordulari" (translated: Armies of the Old World). He is already an amazing matte painter, and thus he did all the backgrounds, visual effects and modeling. I don't advertise things on my blog, but this is pretty amazing considering how they did it under such a tight budget and all.

This guy has extra 8 eyes with wide peripheral vision just like a sheep's, so yeah, don't think you can run away from this guy! But you might say "sheep don't have focal point in their eyes, so they can't focus on things!" Then I'll tell you THIS GUY CAN with his 'regular' eyes on his FACE!! How's that for a concept :p

Oh and he's got thin membrane sail things all around his body to help a smooth flight.. inspired by sailfish. Thank you animal planet! :)

Last year, I did a piece for a show in J+K Gallery in Alhambra,CA. The theme was "Process", so I did an oil painting on 12x24" canvas and divided into 4 sections. In each section the painting gets more and more done. At the very bottom it's the sketch, and on the very top it's the finished version.

You might wonder why I'm sooo obsessed with dwarves, especially these past weeks. The biggest reason is, I re-started writing my book! And guess what? The main character is a dwarf, haha, no surprises there :)

Nothing amazing, but I really felt like drawing before going to bed. My eyes are closing and all, so this is all I could come up with the energy that was left... My baby Drousch, seeing his village attacked by dark dwarves (see the previous post).
On a side note; he looks more like Disney's Tarzan, than a dwarf child ;p

Done for a weekly sketch activity on a Turkish forum.
Mine kinda died during the process, lol. And I had this little story formed in my head as I was drawing; that it's a big crime to kill such a frail and beautiful creature. I think I was also moved by the Dragonlance ost (the animated film).
And I apologize for the lazy light-dark execution, I know it's not the best lighting ;p I'll fix it when I've more time :)

I've been listening to Dragonlance OST. Interestingly, the animation is horrifying, but the soundtrack is one of the best I've heard in my life! I can listen to it all day long without getting bored.
